School Curriculum
At R.P. School, Malla Bagh we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum through the delivery of modern and Islamic education. Our aim is to draw upon the best elements of the curriculum combined with the depth and range of subjects that are based on age-appropriate learning goals. Each subject area is well planned and monitored to ensure progression and continuity of learning for all students across the school.
The subjects taught at R.P. School are: English, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, History, Political Science, geography, Art, Arabic and Islamic Studies. Reading and reciting of the Quran with Tajweed and Aqa’id along with memorizing the holy verses. Our curriculum builds curiosity and a passion for learning in children as per appropriate age group.
We integrate the curriculum with NCERT (National Council of Education, Research and Training). It provides a platform for all the children to exhibit their hidden talents and caliber. In Primary classes, the focus is on encouraging inquiry, exploration and on including confidence in key learning skills- reading, writing, listening, speaking and observation.
Children are encouraged to speak and perform at assemblies, seminars, sports and thus gain confidence in their ability to communicate to a wider audience through a team building ability. One of the most important parts of our school curriculum is the morning assembly. School assemblies serve as powerful motivators. By assembling the students and teachers in one space before the start of the school day, morning assembly is a powerful way to instill discipline and also to set a joyful and focused tone for the day. The role of a high quality morning assembly is very important for the spiritual development of the students and for maintain the positive environment in the school.
At R.P.S, Malla Bagh, we have opted for a grand assembly once a week (Thursday). We use our Thursday assemblies very effectively to share important information, stage students’ performances. It is in this forum that the expectations for behavior and character are emphasized . The school believes in the system of learning by practicing. It is stimulating and motivating way for students to learn. Our curriculum is structure to encourage and motivate them to become self-confident, self-reliant and self-disciplined.
The School seeks to achieve this through a variety of curriculum and co-curricular programmes. We also offer physical education, which improves health and fitness while enjoying the recreational value it offers. There is also participation in co-curricular activities. Students who show special interest or who are talented in any sporting or non-sporting areas are offered further opportunities through the core activity programme. This helps students excel in such areas and also enhance their readiness to take part in competition and tournaments outside the school.
Good education not only has to develop character and sense of value, but must also strike a balance between the academic and non-academic areas. Besides modern education, Islamic education is also inculcated in our students. In the current era, Islamic education is very much needed for students, because with this modern era there are many negative impacts among students. By instilling Islamic education, the students will avoid the negative effects of modern times. In Sha Allah..
We at R.P.S Malla Bagh focus:
- To cultivate in the pupil a reverence for and Love for Allah, Creator of the Universe.
- To acquaint the pupil with the basic teaching of Islam as laid down in the Holy Quran and exemplified in the life and conduct of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).
- To develop in pupil the qualities which make for a well-balanced Muslim.
- To teach the pupil selected Ahadeeth inorder to direct her own conduct.
- To get the pupils to learn by heart such Aayat and Duas as necessary for use in everyday life.
- To teach the pupil the daily practices with regard to personal hygiene, worship and general conduct as befits a Muslim.
- To make pupil aware that she is part of a greater Muslim community
- To acquaint the pupils with the contributions made by Muslims towards the human progress.
